O filme O Agente Secreto está na lista de semifinalistas ao Oscar 2026 nas categorias de Melhor Filme Internacional e Melhor Escalação de Elenco. A lista foi divulgada pela Academia de Artes e Ciências Cinematográficas nesta terçafeira (16) e reúne 15 produções na disputa por uma vaga entre os cinco finalistas de Melhor Filme Internacional.
Entre os concorrentes nessa categoria estão produções como Foi Apenas um Acidente e Valor Sentimental, de outros países. O Brasil também aparece em outras categorias: Apocalipse nos Trópicos, de Petra Costa, foi listado na préseleção de Melhor Documentário, e Amarela, de André Hayato Saito, está entre os semifinalistas de Melhor CurtaMetragem LiveAction.
A lista final de indicados ao Oscar será divulgada em 22 de janeiro. A cerimônia de premiação está marcada para 15 de março, em Los Angeles.
O Agente Secreto tem trajetória de destaque internacional desde sua estreia, em maio, no Festival de Cannes, onde faturou prêmios de melhor ator e melhor direção. A produção vem acumulando reconhecimentos no exterior: foi indicada ao Globo de Ouro em categorias como Melhor Filme de Língua Não Inglesa, Melhor Filme de Drama e Melhor Ator em Filme de Drama (com Wagner Moura). Também recebeu indicações ao Critics Choice Awards e ao Spirit Awards.
O longa já conquistou prêmios importantes, incluindo o de melhor filme em língua não inglesa no Los Angeles Critics Association Awards e o de melhor filme internacional pelo New York Film Critics Circle, que também elegeu Wagner Moura como melhor ator. A obra ainda foi destacada por veículos como The New York Times e The Hollywood Reporter, este último considerando o filme o melhor de 2025.
Além de O Agente Secreto, a “shortlist” do Oscar 2026 trouxe préindicações em outras 11 categorias, como documentário, animação em curtametragem, trilha sonora original, efeitos visuais, fotografia e a nova categoria de Melhor Escalação de Elenco, onde o filme brasileiro também figura.
